Terms of Use

These conditions apply whenever you browse content, submit a search, or otherwise use this website. Continued use means you agree to them. If you do not agree, you must stop using the site.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website has no affiliation with a local, North Carolina, or federal government body. Neither the site nor its advertising partners provide a service for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other decisions regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Its purpose is to identify Tyrrell County and North Carolina criminal-record resources. It is not a private investigation firm or consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site with no government connection. It neither stores official criminal records nor retrieves records, performs official checks, or files papers for a user.

The content directs readers to Tyrrell County custodians and statewide sources, including the Sheriff, Clerk of Superior Court, North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, and North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry. Access to agency records remains subject to the North Carolina Public Records Law, court-record rules, and record-specific limits. Outside search services may also appear.

2. Rules for Using This Site

By using the site, you agree not to:

  • Use site content for hiring, housing, lending, insurance, or another FCRA-regulated decision
  • Violate federal, North Carolina, or local law through the site
  • Threaten, stalk, or harass a person using information found here
  • Attempt unauthorized access to any part of our systems
  • Deploy bots, scrapers, or other automated collection tools against the pages
  • Interfere with site speed, availability, or another person's access

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

You may not use information from this site or a linked tool to stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or unlawfully discriminate against anyone. Such conduct may be criminal. North Carolina's Article 27A governs the North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry, which exists for public protection rather than vigilantism or prohibited discrimination. Criminal investigative information is also subject to the dissemination limits in G.S. 132-1.4.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and produce no credit report, consumer report, or background check. Our advertising partners do not offer their tools here for regulated screening. You must not use this site or a linked tool to:

  • Make a decision to hire or dismiss a person
  • Evaluate a renter or housing applicant
  • Set insurance terms or assess creditworthiness
  • Decide eligibility for a license, permit, or government benefit
  • Carry out any other purpose governed by the FCRA

A regulated purpose requires the proper official process through an authorized North Carolina channel or a screening company that complies with the FCRA.

5. No Legal Advice

Site content is general information, not legal advice. It cannot determine how a Tyrrell County charge, conviction, warrant, or North Carolina expunction law applies to a specific person. Seek advice from a licensed North Carolina attorney.

6. No Warranties

All site content is provided "as is," without a promise that:

  • Information will always be current, accurate, or complete
  • A partner search will return complete or correct results
  • The pages will contain no bug, error, or security flaw
  • The site will remain available without interruption

A criminal record may change when a charge is filed, dismissed, sealed, corrected, or expunged. Gaps and delays can occur. Nothing published here is an official statement by the Tyrrell County Sheriff, a court, or another government agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may lead to sheriff, court, state-agency, legal-resource, and outside search-service websites. We do not control those destinations and are not responsible for their content, availability, prices, or data practices. Review their own terms before use.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Tyrrell County Criminal History or its content partners. You may not copy, alter, distribute, or create derivative material from them without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim liability for damages arising from site use, including reliance on information found here or through a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold us harmless from claims, demands, or proceedings caused by your site use or breach of these terms, including related legal fees and costs.

11. Governing Law

North Carolina law governs these terms. Any dispute arising from use of the site must be brought in a court located in North Carolina.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms. A revision takes effect when the updated text is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

We may restrict or terminate access at any time, for any reason, and without advance notice.

14. Severability

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions stay in force. The affected term will be adjusted only as far as needed to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these conditions may be submitted through the Contact page.
